Greg Worsfold is a Founding Partner of Optima Partners and a leading adviser to the global asset management industry on UK and US regulatory and compliance matters. With nearly two decades of experience, he counsels many of the world’s largest hedge funds, private equity firms, venture capital managers and traditional asset managers on their most complex regulatory challenges.

Greg is widely recognised for his deep technical expertise across FCA, SEC and CFTC regulatory frameworks and for his ability to deliver clear, commercially focused guidance to boards and senior management teams. He regularly advises on the regulatory implications of new strategies, global expansion and emerging technologies, including the deployment and governance of artificial intelligence in financial services.

His practice spans the full breadth of financial regulation, including market abuse, trading regulation, capital and liquidity requirements, SMCR implementation, conduct and governance, conflicts management, fund marketing rules and financial reporting obligations. Greg frequently leads cross-border authorisation projects and has extensive experience preparing firms for regulatory examinations and providing support throughout live reviews.

Prior to establishing Optima Partners, Greg worked at Kinetic Partners in both London and New York, advising on UK and US financial regulation. He began his career at Linklaters in the Financial Markets Group.

Greg is a regular panellist and contributor to industry publications and is regarded as a trusted commentator on regulatory developments affecting alternative investment firms.
